Finally, a setup that makes foiling fun and easy. Three varying mast heights to learn the progression of flight with.

Setting 1-14":

This is where it all starts. Ronix's R&D team have ridden masts as short as 10” to over 30”. They feel 14” is the perfect height to begin your adventure. They have coached countless people that have struggled for years on a traditional mast height with great success on this reduced height. You are still above the water, but you don’t have nearly the magnified sensation on your starts as you would with most conventional mast heights. Once you feel comfortable with your starts at this height, they encourage you to directly go to setting #2.

Setting 1 Sensation - Skimming over the water

Setting 2 - 17":

Congratulations you have advanced from the beginning phase and feel comfortable with your start. Now you can learn weight position, your ideal stance, how to open your hips and shoulders up to the boat, all the while holding on to the handle. This setting is all about building the correct foundation that will carry you through every level of foiling. Ronix encourage you to stay at this setting until you feel solid with the key mechanics and have a comfortable heelside or toeside turn without involving the wave.

Setting 2 Sensation: Hovering over the water

Setting 3 - 20":

You are on a roll. You have your starts and the basic fundamentals in your back pocket. Welcome to the highest setting. While on the second wave with a roughly 80’ rope Ronix encourage you to be outside of the wave and gradually edge into the wave all while holding onto the handle. This setting will more than likely take some time – but the goal is to understand the power of the wave, where the force is coming from and you will need to adjust your weight / movements to these new forces. Once you feel you like you understand the habits of the wave and how you need to adjust for them – drop the handle and begin your flight.

Setting 3 Sensation: Flying

Hollow MFG. Alloy

A high-grade corrosion resistant alloy is pushed through a die to the desired cross section. This workhorse heat treated 6061 aluminum has a higher strength than other metals for increased wear and tear and a more solid connections between the different parts.

Benefits of extrusion process….

-Light weight – We hollow out the inside making it less than half the weight of a solid piece.

-Sequence – Creates the correct ratio of dampening to response – this construction is not too slow or fast for the proper rhythm in your foiling.
